Sherry: Of course. Hello everyone. My name is Shuang Song, and you can call me Sherry.
and I come from China. I’m a graduate student in Molecular Biologi, and very glad to meet you. That’s all.
Nora: It’s very nice to meet you too. Can you tell me a little bit about your background?
Sherry: My background? Umm.. My unnergraduate in universaty is.. um.. was Henan Agricultural Universaty and my major in my bachelor is Biotechnolog and than I took Ls(??) and GRE and came here for my graduate study. Uhh.. that is my background.
Nora: Can you tell me a little bit about your family background?
Sherry: Oh, of course. Uh…I’m a only child in my family. You know the one child policy in China.

umm..uhh..my mother is a teacher and he teach..she teaches...umm...by...she
teaches botany..and she..um..is very can teacher..umm..when I was little...little girl
my parents are very busy...umm...for their teaching so to be honest I don't like..the..I
don't..I don't want to be a teaher, but my parents want me to be a teacher...that is the
reason..I choose my major and I sink in the future I will presume my PHD degree

No, you know, one child policy in China. Every family only have one child. Otherwise, if I um…, that means if my parents want another chi… child, they will lose their jobs. That it very serious in meikentry. I like um… the people in my kentry. They are very kend. Um… every time I need help, they will lendhand to me. Um…, I think in Americ people are also kend and helpful, but sometimes I feel people there sometimes are little independent, you know, um…,and sometimes I will feel lonely in in in here, so I miss my friends, relatives, and classmates in my kentry.
Sherry: …That is the people in my kentry; I like.
Sherry: I’m not sure. I think I will be back. Yah, because I love my kentry, I love people there and I love the food there. I lover everysing there, so I will be back; I think. To my kentry. Because that is my home; yah.
Sherry: My future plan? Umm, well, umm, after finishing my master degree uhh I will pursue the PH degree because you know, I only have this degree I will be a maybe a professor or teacher in universityin my kentry. You know in my kentry there are a lot of people who have PH degree, dus (thus) the competition is very ferius (furious) that is da reason I want to pursue the PH Degree here; yeah.
